(What the role is)
The key scope of work for the position is to provide operational support of Energy Management Systems, involving round-the-clock monitoring and control of electricity generators as well as the electricity and natural gas transmission networks. Additionally, the role includes operating a Cybersecurity Operation Centre to monitor cybersecurity threats and manage Power Sector Critical Information Infrastructure incidents.
(What you will be working on)
Energy Management System
Provide first-level technical support to ensure high availability and reliability of the Energy Management System, including attending to technical problems reported by Power System Operators, and maintaining operational technology systems, OT/IT network & security infrastructures.
Participate in designing and implementing enhancements to mission-critical EMS, such as integrating renewables like solar, energy storage, and electricity imports, as well as tuning power system applications for real-time operations.
Coordinate with licensees to facilitate connection of new generation facilities and transmission equipment, including database updates and validation.
Cyber Security Monitoring for Power Sector
Provide first-level support for the Cyber Security Operation Centre (CSOC) to manage cyber incidents impacting Power System Operation and Critical Information Infrastructures, including analyzing alerts, identifying anomalies, and incident resolution.
Cybersecurity Risk Assessment & Management
Develop technical solutions for cybersecurity mitigation, ensuring compliance with regulations like the Cybersecurity Act and CCoP.
Conduct security reviews, risk assessments, and audits to identify and address vulnerabilities, including documentation review, testing, and patching.
The department also maintains critical supporting infrastructure such as UPS, fire protection, and security access systems to ensure reliable EMS operation.
Requirements:
Keen interest in OT cybersecurity, power system engineering, and public service.
Skills in programming, hardware architecture, Linux/Unix/Windows OS, networking, and information security practices (ISO 27001, Risk Assessment).
Knowledge of Power System Engineering, Control Centers Operations, and related environments is advantageous.
