Murex Accounting Consultant Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Murex accounting professional to lead the implementation and upgrade of Murex accounting and finance stream. As a subject matter expert, you will be responsible for performing functional analysis of accounting changes and presenting them to end-users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the subject matter expert for Murex accounting and wider finance stream.
  • Perform functional analysis of accounting changes and present them to end-users.
  • Define process and report adaptations for changes introduced in higher versions of Murex.
  • Represent the Accounting/Finance stream at project meetings and lead critical upgrade-related activities.
  • Participate in discussions with business stakeholders, understand their needs, and transform them into change or project initiatives.
  • Follow up with vendor support to resolve bugs/issues.

Required Skills:

  • Experience working in the financial industry with relevant experience in Murex accounting and finance module.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience configuring accounting rules in Murex for various asset classes like derivatives, FI, and FX.
  • At least 1 Murex implementation or Murex Upgrade experience.
  • Understanding of finance reports, majorly PnL and accrual reports.
  • Murex expertise for PnL-related configuration like accounting and economic PnL and associated components like past, future cash, etc.

Nice to Have:

  • Implementations and upgrades: MXpress; FEM migrations, MXplus updates, and MX.3 main-branch upgrades.

To succeed in this role, you must have excellent communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
