Lead Data Scientist

What You Will Do
As a Data Scientist in Cartography's Routing team, you will be involved in working to optimize the routing platform that powers many of Gojek services (across marketplace, food or logistics). Some areas include building data products, experimentation design/analysis, performing literature surveys, building/maintaining production grade data pipelines and working closely with the data, product & engineering team to solve challenging geospatial problems.
Oversee experimentation design and analysis (AB testing, Switchback)
Deep-dive into analysis to support engineering & business decisions
Design, implement multi-modal capabilities on unstructured data such as text or images using generative models, deep learning models or other complex solutions to strengthen inhouse geospatial capabilities
Own the entire MLops lifecycle in terms of deployment and maintaining reliability of large scale real-time ML models
Work with Data Scientists, Product Engineers and Product Managers to build, deploy, and scale end-to-end data science solutions
What You Will Need
Master's in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field. Advanced academic qualifications are highly desirable.
5-7 years of experience in data science or a related field, preferably within the on-demand services or technology industry.
Expertise in programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala, as well as proficiency with data manipulation and visualization libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, matplotlib, seaborn).
Understanding of statistical concepts and techniques, with experience applying them to real-world problems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience with solving problems using deep learning (Graph learning, NLP, images, generative AI) is a plus
A passion for learning and innovation, with a desire to stay ahead of the curve in the rapidly evolving field of data science and technology.

Our main responsibility is to build data products for ETA prediction, mapping errors detection, map-matching, location search and ranking, and reverse geocoding.
