Lead Data Scientist - Complex Subsystem Team - 3 months contract - Abu Dhabi
The role of Lead Data Scientist at Proximity involves leading a team of 4-8 data scientists to deliver machine learning (ML) capabilities within a Databricks-Azure platform. You will be responsible for guiding the delivery of complex ML systems that align with product and platform goals, while balancing scientific rigor with practical engineering. Additionally, you will define the model lifecycle, tooling, and architectural direction.The ideal candidate will possess advanced skills and experience in ML, including supervised/unsupervised modeling, time-series analysis, interpretability, MLflow, Spark, and TensorFlow/PyTorch. Engineering skills in feature pipelines, model serving, CI/CD, and production deployment are also required. As a leader, you will be expected to provide mentorship, ensure architectural alignment across subsystems, and develop an experimentation strategy.
