Job Description:

SUPPLIER QUALITY SPECIALIST

Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for maintaining supplier relationships and managing contracts effectively.

Location: Singapore.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain strong partnerships with suppliers by identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  • Oversee supplier performance and ensure adherence to corporate standards through regular audits.
  • Conduct thorough factory audits to identify risks and opportunities for growth.
  • Establish and monitor quality standards for suppliers to ensure compliance.
  • Develop and implement training programs for staff and contractors on inspection processes and quality standards.
  • Evaluate factory performance and conduct in-depth audits to assess quality control measures.
  • Ensure a smooth transition of new products from design to production by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Monitor initial production runs for quality and develop strategies to improve supplier quality.
  • Prepare comprehensive New Product Introduction Packages and update operations lists and bills of materials.
  • Assist with product development and sourcing for components that fail testing.
  • Manage the critical path of orders from sampling to bulk production by coordinating with internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance supplier quality and compliance, including cost-saving initiatives.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management, including weekly schedules and factory visit agendas.
  • Develop sourcing strategies and supplier management plans to optimize supply chain efficiency.
  • Screen, audit, and select suppliers based on risk and commercial assessment criteria.
  • Initiate and implement cost-process improvement projects to drive supplier quality excellence.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest industry trends and best practices in quality management.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of electronic products and OEM/EMS project management.
  • Extensive experience in QA documentation and procedures adhering to ISO standards.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to thrive in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a problem-solving mentality.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Mandarin.
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • MBA is an asset.
  • 8+ years of experience in sourcing electronic components and working in manufacturing environments.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality control in the electronics or semiconductor industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in team leadership and management.
