Consultant | Recruitment Specialist in Building Materials Industry | APAC We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Sales Engineer to join our team and drive the specification and adoption of specialized products within the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) and TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) tunneling sectors. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to major underground construction projects while leveraging your technical expertise and business acumen. Key Responsibilities: Technical Sales & Specification: Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities with MRT clients, TBM operators, main contractors, and consulting engineers. Lead the specification and approval processes for a range of TBM-related products, including soil conditioning agents, tail seal mastics, backfill grouts, and concrete admixtures. Deliver comprehensive technical presentations and workshops to project stakeholders, highlighting the performance, application, and cost advantages of our products. Project Management & Technical Support: Act as the primary on-site technical consultant during critical phases of TBM tunneling projects. Work closely with internal teams to provide tailored solutions based on specific ground conditions and TBM types (EPB, Slurry, etc.). Monitor product performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure seamless project execution. Stay informed on MRT expansion plans and major tunneling tenders in the region. Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to meet ambitious revenue targets in the TBM and tunneling market. Provide valuable feedback to R&D and Product Management teams regarding local market needs and competitor activity. Required Skills and Qualifications: Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a technical sales, application, or business development role within the construction or heavy civil engineering industry. Experience in TBM tunneling projects (MRT, Metro, or highway tunnels) is highly desirable. Technical Competence: In-depth knowledge of TBM soil conditioning methods, particularly for Earth Pressure Balance (EPB) and Slurry TBMs. Familiarity with the specification and application of two-component tail seal mastics and backfill grouts for tunnel lining. Strong understanding of concrete technology and its application in high-performance, durable precast tunnel segments. Soft Skills & Attributes: Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills (both written and verbal). Proven ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with senior technical and commercial stakeholders. A proactive, self-driven individual with a results-oriented approach and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
