Shipping Broker Associate

As a Shipping Broker Associate, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our experienced brokers on the S&P desk. This dynamic position involves providing research and market intelligence to aid in deal execution, client liaison, and transaction origination.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing comprehensive support to senior brokers in all day-to-day activities, encompassing research, deal execution, and client communication.
  • Identifying and structuring deals through meticulous market analysis and relationship-building techniques.
  • Maintaining accurate vessel position lists and tracking daily market developments to ensure up-to-date market coverage.
  • Negotiating sale and charter agreements to deliver optimal outcomes for clients.
  • Offering insightful market analysis and trade recommendations to clients based on current trends, data, and opportunities.
  • Developing new business opportunities by identifying prospects, expanding the client network globally, and fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with existing clients through proactive communication, understanding of client needs, and tailored engagement strategies.
  • Preparing detailed market reports and presentations for both internal and client use.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate data flow regarding vessel movements, transactions, and market developments within the organization.
  • Representing the company at client meetings, conferences, and industry events as required to enhance partnerships and market visibility.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Maritime Studies or a Diploma in Maritime, although candidates without maritime education are open to applications.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain robust client relationships.
  • Strong commercial acumen, coupled with excellent negotiation skills.
  • The confidence to operate independently, with a keen eye for detail and commitment to accuracy in documentation and reporting.
