Overview The Manager, Client Solutions - Asia, Savings & Retirement will combine technical ability and creativity with strong interpersonal and communication skills as they take on a key role in the execution of ambitious objectives in the Asia region. Job Title : Manager, Client Solutions, S&R, Asia Role summary : The role holder will be responsible for supporting and expanding client and broker relationships across all Asia counterparties, seeking innovative solutions to complex problems across longevity and asset-intensive reinsurance structures within Savings and Retirement products. The role contributes to the design, development and execution of long-term strategic objectives for the Asia region and the wider Savings and Retirement team. Expanding Pacific Life Re’s footprint and delivering growth in the Asia region is a key strategic objective. The role supports the AVP, Client Solutions, Savings and Retirement, in delivering and executing a strategy and business plan for client relationships and solutions for the Asia market. Responsibilities Client Management : Build strong working relationships with key day-to-day contacts across clients, consultants, brokers and banks, and demonstrate visibility on behalf of Pacific Life Re. Perform core client management tasks, including preparation and follow-up, effective chairing of meetings, and collaboration with team members to ensure consistency across markets. Maintain cultural alignment in client management, acting as partners rather than suppliers, and be creative and solution-driven to meet client needs/objectives. Ensure regular communication with key contacts through ongoing catch-ups and multidisciplinary meetings as necessary. Quote Delivery & Structuring : Own the quote process from initial receipt through delivery and follow-up, managing governance processes and internal stakeholders. Support AVP, Client Solutions in triaging opportunities, setting quote strategy and proposing commercial terms. Promote a solution mindset to commercial problems by coordinating input from subject matter experts and leveraging knowledge of client needs to solve complex propositional challenges. Participate in pricing sign-off with awareness of market context and contribute to contractual structuring, treaty drafting and negotiation. Strategy : Execute the strategy for asset-intensive and longevity reinsurance in the Asia market. Develop and maintain the client networking strategy to ensure key stakeholders remain connected with Pacific Life Re. Support wider S&R workstreams as part of Pacific Life Enterprise strategic objectives for 2025–2030 (Strategy Next). Qualifications & Experience Strong and relevant technical experience in life (re)insurance, life consultancy or brokerage with a minimum of 5 years’ experience. Qualified actuary or investment banking professional strongly preferred. Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams and engage confidently with external clients across diverse cultural environments, particularly in Asia. Strong project management skills, including coordinating cross-functional teams, managing timelines, and delivering results in a structured manner. Proficiency in an Asian language is highly preferred; Korean or Japanese are particularly valuable. Foundational understanding of reinsurance structures, with willingness to develop deeper expertise in asset-intensive solutions and good working knowledge of pricing and capital frameworks. Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and contribute to client proposals, market analysis, or deal structuring. Commercially minded with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and supporting new business initiatives. Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with competing priorities. Familiarity with risk management principles, internal controls, or governance frameworks is a plus.
