Overview
Deputy Director (IT Infrastructure System Management) role at Ministry of Defence of Singapore. You oversee a team to deliver the portfolio of Operations Support Information Technology (OSIT) infrastructure projects to support MINDEF/SAF's current and future Information Technology (IT) operations.
Responsibilities
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to implement OSIT infrastructure projects and formulate and execute plans
Establish related project and usage policies and guidelines, oversee the development of OSIT infrastructure projects' specifications and performance
Ensure that the project is aligned with enterprise architectures and compliant with security and OSIT policies
Ensure all projects are within regulatory requirements, industry standards, internal governance policies and existing enterprise architectures
Support the master planning and execution of the OSIT Multi-Year Business Plan (MYBP)
Ensure smooth handover of rolled out projects for operations
Challenges
Ensuring delivery of OSIT projects within schedule and budget
Prioritising the delivery of various projects across the OSIT portfolio by assessing factors such as business value, criticality, cost, manpower effort, potential ROI and technology readiness
Staying abreast of technology trends to push performance boundaries and keep up with the changing IT landscape and government policies
Understanding the limitations and complexities of existing OSIT systems and services
Qualifications
Education in Telecommunication, Electrical Engineering or Public Policy
At least 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in project management and/or IT infrastructure and services delivery
Strong knowledge and working experience with system management and IT governance
Strong leadership and communication skills
Good organisational acumen
Ability to engage various stakeholders
