Description of Division/Branch: Gambling Safeguards administers gambling social safeguards and fund preventive and rehabilitative programmes for problem gamblers and their families. We are also Secretariat to the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG).
What you will be working on:
Brief description of Job Scope: You will be part of a team that administers the NCPG social safeguards to protect the vulnerable from problem gambling. As a Manager (Operations, Social Safeguards), you will handle casework to help families and individuals who are at-risk to the harm of gambling. You will be responsible for interviewing and assessing the level of risk of individuals who gamble to facilitate decisions by a Committee of Assessors. In this role, you will be working with individuals who gamble and their family members. To be successful in this role, you must be empathetic, be a good listener, able to ask pertinent questions, analytical and persuasive.
Responsibilities:
Explaining the social safeguards to individuals and their families
Assessing cases, preparing reports and presenting the case reports
Guiding public users on the use of the IT system to perform submission of applications and documents
Making referrals to other agencies
Motivating individuals to participate in rehabilitation programmes
Designing service delivery workflows and standard operating procedures
What we are looking for:
Job Requirements:
Tertiary qualification preferably in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology
Experience in service planning and operations will be an advantage
Experience in data analytics, analysing trends and putting up statistical reports will be an advantage
Be result oriented, meticulous and analytical
Possess good interpersonal, written and communication skills
A team player with ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Have a good knowledge of office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
