Executive Housekeeper Leadership Position

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, who can effectively supervise and direct the Housekeeping team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Housekeeping team, focusing on guest services, training, and safety.
  • Develop and implement International hotel standards for cleanliness, guest service provision, organization, controls, and reporting.
  • Review and maintain operating policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources for recruitment of housekeeping team members.
  • Conduct daily housekeeping briefings and on-the-job training to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
  • Liaise with the Purchasing Manager for sourcing and purchasing equipment, supplies, linen, and amenities.
  • Assist in appointing and supervising contract services related to Housekeeping.
  • Work with the Chief Engineer to develop and implement preventative maintenance programs.
  • Inspect VIP rooms and ensure they are ready for check-in.
  • Address guest complaints and take service recovery measures as needed.
  • Maintain tight cost control systems for payroll, linen inventories, and cleaning supplies.
  • Handle staff grievances, discipline, and counseling.
  • Monitor the 'Knowcross' system for housekeeping status.
  • Pursue other duties assigned by the Executive Housekeeper.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum diploma/certificate in Hospitality Management or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong people person with good communication skills.
