Leadership Opportunities: Executive Housekeeping

Job Summary:

The Assistant Executive Housekeeper oversees the housekeeping team, focusing on exceptional guest service, training, and safety. Key responsibilities include developing operating policies, recruiting staff, conducting daily briefings, and maintaining hotel standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develops and implements operating policies and procedures to ensure efficient operations.
  2. Works with Human Resources to recruit and select qualified housekeeping team members.
  3. Conducts daily housekeeping briefings and on-the-job training to maintain hotel standards.
  4. Liaises with Purchasing Manager for sourcing and purchasing equipment, linen, and amenities.
  5. Assists in appointing and supervising contract services related to housekeeping.
  6. Collaborates with Chief Engineer to develop preventative maintenance programs.
  7. Inspects rooms, particularly VIP areas, to ensure readiness for check-in.
  8. Takes proactive measures to resolve guest complaints.
  9. Maintains cost control systems for payroll, inventory, and supplies.
  10. Handles staff grievances, discipline, and counseling.

Requirements:

  • Degree or certificate in Hospitality Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar capacity.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
