Therapist Mentor

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching children with mild to moderate learning difficulties, specific learning difficulties and/or children with emotional or behavioural problems.
The successful candidate will develop and adapt lesson plans for students who have varying disabilities that challenge them in a normal classroom environment. They will teach MOE primary/secondary school curriculum such as Mandarin, Science, Maths and English. The Educational Therapist will also deliver clear and effective lessons with students individually, monitor their academic progress and write regular progress reports.
In addition, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with parents to discuss issues relating to the student's learning progress and update case notes post-sessions regularly and independently.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in special education, childhood psychology or teaching
- Relevant working experience in mainstream schools will be advantageous
- Experience working with children with physical, emotional and learning disabilities
- Ability to extend patience, love, passion and kindness to students
- Patience in guiding children with challenging behaviour and the ability to apply ST strategies from the TEACCH approach
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken
- Ability to teach on full Saturdays
- Willingness to travel between two intervention centres
- Current MOE teachers with relevant experience may apply for flexible working hours
