Speech Therapist Leadership Role

This is a challenging and rewarding leadership role that requires a skilled professional with experience in leading teams, managing projects, and providing supervision and mentoring to junior therapists.

As a Speech Therapist Leader, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, treating, and providing intervention for clients with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.

You will also supervise and mentor entry-level speech and language pathologists and students pursuing courses on undergraduate/postgraduate course in Speech and Language Pathology.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology/Therapy, Full Registration under AHPC, and at least 8 years of experience in providing supervision and mentoring to junior therapists, handling projects and research work.

Additional requirements include staff management, strategic planning, budget preparation, program evaluation, and managing day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To assess, diagnose, treat and provide intervention for clients with speech, language, communication and swallowing disorders.
  • To supervise and mentor entry-level speech and language pathologists and students pursuing courses on undergraduate/postgraduate course in Speech and Language Pathology.
  • To design, develop and plan learning and teaching methods and resources.
  • To evaluate and document clients' speech therapy needs and progress at regular intervals.
  • To refer clients to respective specialists for consultation and appropriate intervention.
  • To work with clients, their parents and therapists/professionals on concerns related to feeding/swallowing, augmentative and alternative communication, literacy, socio-pragmatic and communication skills.
Requirements:
  • Masters in Speech and Language Pathology / Therapy, Full Registration under AHPC,
  • with at least 8 years of experience in providing supervision and mentoring to junior therapists, handling projects and research work.
  • Experience in staff management, strategic planning, budget preparation, program evaluation and managing day-to-day operations would be an added advantage.
