About the role
Axis Machines is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Procurement Engineer to join our growing team. In this full-time, on-site role based in Tuas, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth and efficient procurement of materials, equipment, and services to support our manufacturing operations.
What you'll be doing
Analyse and forecast demand for materials, equipment, and services to identify procurement needs
Research and evaluate suppliers to establish a reliable and cost-effective supply chain
Negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships to secure the best possible terms
Monitor and maintain inventory levels to optimise stock levels
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement activities with production and project requirements
Implement and improve procurement processes and systems to enhance efficiency and transparency
Provide regular reports and updates on procurement activities and performance
What we're looking for
Preferably Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in a procurement or supply chain role, preferably in the manufacturing industry
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve procurement challenges
Excellent negotiation and vendor management capabilities
Proficient in using procurement software and data analysis tools
Solid understanding of supply chain principles, inventory management, and cost-saving strategies
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally
