What you will be working on The GovTech Anti‐Scam Products Team’s mission is to build tech solutions to detect, disrupt and deter scammers at scale. Work spans data infrastructure, developing and deploying AI & ML to scale proactive detection, API connections to partners, and front‐end systems for enforcement agencies. The Data Engineer will solve abstract problems to tackle scams using data. Design and implement ETL processes Manage data warehousing solutions Expose and deploy machine learning models to production Ensure data quality and consistency across various sources Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to develop anti‐scam tech products Establish best practices for developer operations Provide technical leadership across multiple product teams Share expertise and mentor other engineers Help with recruiting What we are looking for Proficient in Python Experience with SQL/NoSQL/Graph databases Glue, Presto, Apache Spark and/or Hive Experience working with CI/CD setups Strong knowledge of algorithms and database structures Strong knowledge of database integration and migration strategy Strong knowledge in designing and implementing scalable data infrastructure Preferred Experience in AWS Cloud Experience building high‐scale, low‐latency APIs & deploying scaled AI / ML solutions Experience with data‐intensive frameworks & data warehousing solutions; bonus if familiar with graph data structures Understanding of event‐driven architectures involving SQS / Kafka; bonus if familiar with FlinkIdentify potential projects that improve the public good, design novel systems that work around bureaucratic constraints and advocate and explain these technical ideas to other government agencies.
