Software Engineer, GovTech Anti Scam Products (GASP)Assurity Trusted Solutions (ATS), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Government Technology Agency (GovTech), invites applications for the role of Software Engineer in the GovTech Anti Scam Products Team. The team focuses on building tech solutions to detect, disrupt, and deter scammers at scale. What the role is GovTech leads Singapore's Smart Nation initiatives and public sector digital transformation. As the Centre of Excellence for Infocomm Technology and Smart Systems (ICT & SS), GovTech develops capabilities in Data Science & AI, Application Development, Smart City Technology, Digital Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity. What you will be working on The mission is to build tech solutions to detect, disrupt, and deter scammers at scale. The work spans data infrastructure, AI & ML deployments, API connections to partners, and front‐end systems for enforcement agencies. Your job will involve coding new systems from scratch and re‐using community solutions. Responsibilities Build prototypes to demonstrate technological opportunities Design robust, scalable system architectures Write production‐quality code Manage deployments to cloud infrastructure Maintain systems to a high level of reliability Proactively identify, analyse, and resolve potential system issues More senior software engineers will also be expected to: Establish best practices for developer operations Provide technical leadership across multiple product teams Share expertise and mentor other engineers Help with recruiting What it is like working here Rapid prototyping – testing instead of debating ideas Ownership – influence direction and next steps Continuous learning – deepening knowledge of architectures, frameworks, and languages Requirements Must have Python, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript Experience with CI/CD setups Strong knowledge of AWS Cloud Strong knowledge of algorithms and database structures Preferred Experience running containers or serverless services Experience building high‐scale, low‐latency APIs and deploying scaled AI/ML solutions Experience with data‐intensive frameworks and data warehousing solutions (e.g., Glue, Spark, Presto); bonus familiarity with graph data structures Understanding of event‐driven architectures involving SQS/Kafka; bonus familiarity with Flink Additional responsibilities for senior engineers Identify potential projects that improve the public good Design novel systems that work around bureaucratic constraints Advocate and explain technical ideas to other government agencies We invite you to discover a meaningful and exciting career with Assurity Trusted Solutions.
