Overview Desktop Support Engineer, TCOMS role at A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research Join to apply for the Desktop Support Engineer, TCOMS role at A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research Responsibilities Provide hands-on desktop troubleshooting support (L1) to end-users for hardware, software, audio-visual equipment, and network-related issues. Resolve issues relating to end user accounts, network access and folder permissions. Deployment and recovery of IT assets for onboarding and off-boarding of staff. Conduct asset verification & audit, maintain accurate records of hardware, software & license inventory. Perform approved change requests for software installation and hardware configuration changes. Assist IT team to maintain documentation and troubleshooting guides. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications & Field of Study At least Higher Nitec, Diploma Certification in Computer/Electronic Engineering or equivalent discipline. Relevant IT certifications (Microsoft, AWS, Cisco/Fortinet) are an added advantage. Work Experiences & Skillsets Proven intermediate level hands-on desktop troubleshooting proficiency with Windows & Linux software, hardware, Microsoft Office 365, networking and audio-visual equipment. Experience with scripting and automation tools is an added advantage, e.g.: Microsoft PowerShell, Windows Cmd Batch Script, Bash, Python, etc. Good interpersonal and communication skills; good command of written and spoken language. Solid organizational skills and attention to detail while juggling demands from stakeholders. Pro-active team player that is resourceful, self-driven with a high degree of professional integrity. Self-starter with an independent, resourceful and "can-do" positive attitude. Takes initiative and ownership of problems to ensure satisfactory resolutions. Ability to navigate unfamiliar technical challenges and situations. Ability to work with minimal supervision and to perform under pressure. Eager to learn and improve.
