What The Role Is
You plan and execute public and digital communication efforts in support of MINDEF/SAF's communication objectives, principally to preserve and strengthen public trust and confidence in national defence, National Service (NS) and the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF).
What You Will Be Working On
Formulate publicity plans for mainstream and social media platforms
Work with media organisations on feature stories
Draft responses to forum letters and media queries
Develop local and international media engagement strategies
Manage public communications during incidents and unplanned events
Challenge(s)
Working with multiple stakeholders to understand complex policy and operational issues
Developing effective communication strategies under time pressure
What We Are Looking For
Education in Communication Studies, Political Science, Social Sciences, or Information and Communication Technology/Digital Media
Strong command of written and spoken English
Proficiency in another language (Mandarin, Malay, Tamil) is advantageous
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Keen interest in Singapore's media, political, defence and security developments
Good understanding of Singapore's media landscape
Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
Meticulous and detail-oriented
Ability to work odd hours and travel overseas at short notice
Appointment will be commensurate with your experience.
