SPIN (Solomon’s Porch Indonesian Ministry)is a ministry within SPSG dedicated to serving Indonesian domestic helpers living in Singapore. Through weekly services, discipleship groups, and community activities, SPIN provides a spiritual home and support system to help members grow in faith, experience God’s love, and find belonging away from home. Role Overview We are seeking a passionate and caring pastor to lead SPIN, providing spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and community support to a growing group of Indonesian domestic helpers. This pastor will help nurture members in their faith, foster meaningful community, and strengthen the ministry’s connection to the broader church. Applicants must be fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and possess proven pastoral experience. This is essential, as the pastor will be preaching, teaching, and counselling primarily in Bahasa Indonesia while coordinating with the broader church team in English. Key Responsibilities Pastoral Care & Spiritual Leadership Provide ongoing pastoral care, counselling, and prayer for members of the Indonesian ministry. Shepherd the congregation with sensitivity, especially as they navigate challenges related to work and family separation. Lead weekly worship services or gatherings in Bahasa Indonesia . Preach biblically sound and relevant sermons; teach God’s Word faithfully. Oversee spiritual activities such as small groups, discipleship sessions, and prayer meetings. Community Engagement & Integration Build and maintain strong relationships with members, creating a warm and supportive environment. Foster healthy communication and integration between SPIN and the wider Solomon’s Porch Singapore congregation. Organize social events and special celebrations (e.g., outings, birthdays, festive gatherings). Volunteer Development Recruit, mentor, and equip volunteers from within the Indonesian congregation. Identify and raise future leaders to serve and disciple others in the community. Administration & Coordination Plan and manage logistics for ministry gatherings and events. Ensure ministry activities align with the broader vision and rhythm of Solomon’s Porch Singapore. Assist with broader church administration and events as needed. Participate in pastoral team meetings and provide regular ministry updates. Qualifications Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English – able to preach and teach in Bahasa Indonesia and communicate effectively with the wider church team in English. Proven pastoral or ministry experience (minimum 3 years), with a demonstrated ability to preach, teach, and provide pastoral care. Minimum of a recognized theology degree ; Masters in Theology or related field is preferred. A shepherd’s heart: caring, discerning, and servant-hearted. Experience in study or ministry outside Indonesia, with awareness of cross-cultural dynamics. Preferably has theological training or formal ministry education. Able to work independently while collaborating closely with the larger church team. Preferred Qualities Approachable, empathetic, and trustworthy.
