Field Application Engineer

Overview This role serves as the primary technical liaison for customers, providing expert pre- and post-sales support for RF Wireless solutions. This role involves understanding customer requirements, assisting in product development and design-in, troubleshooting complex applications, and delivering tailored technical guidance. This role also collaborates closely with internal teams and vendors, drives demo and solution development, supports regulatory compliance, and contributes market insights to ensure optimized product performance and successful customer outcomes across diverse industries. This role reports to the RF Product Marketing Manager. Responsibilities Customer Support & Consultation: Act as the primary technical contact, providing expert support and tailored solutions to address customer needs. Troubleshoot and guide customers through all stages of RF Wireless applications, ensuring successful implementation and satisfaction. Design & Development: Responsible for Demand creation. Deliver technical expertise for design-in opportunities and integrated solutions. Develop and promote reference designs and demo applications that showcase RF Wireless solutions. Assist customers with component selection, technical specifications, and integrating RF components into larger systems. Training & Documentation: Plan and deliver technical training sessions and workshops for customers and sales teams. Create and maintain clear, user-friendly technical documents, application notes, and whitepapers to support effective product use. Product Feedback & Market Insights: Gather and communicate customer feedback to product and engineering teams. Stay informed on market trends and technology advancements, sharing insights internally to influence product development and strategy. Collaboration & Sales Support: Partner with sales, marketing, and product managers to support design-in opportunities and sales efforts. Provide technical expertise during customer presentations, RFQs, and cross-functional projects. Manage and be responsible of the RMA throughout the entire return and repair process, follow up with supplier on the root cause analysis till closure. Vendor & Supplier Liaison: Build strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to address customer requirements. Coordinate communications and attend industry events to stay current on product offerings and technologies. Industry & Customer Coverage: Support a wide range of industries, maintaining close relationships with key customer engineering stakeholders. Understand diverse application needs to tailor solutions effectively. Requirements Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical, Electronics Engineering or related field. 5+ years of experience in RF/Microwave electronics engineering applications area. Possess strong technical knowledge of RF Wireless technologies, e.g. Cellular/RF Microwave/BT/WLAN Good understanding RF principles such as RF/microwave circuit design, block diagram, schematic, layout, test results. Familiarity with RF test equipment (VNAs, spectrum analysers, signal generators, etc.)Previous experience in a customer-facing is a must. Familiarity with regulatory standards and certification processes related to RF products (e.g., FCC, CE). Experience with RF system-level integration and optimization in real-world applications. This role should have the ability to work with Sales and Marketing representatives to develop new customers and business. Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting complex hardware and software issues is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to travel as needed to support customers. Strong problem-solving skills with an innovative and proactive approach. Self-motivated with a continuous learning mindset to stay current with emerging RF technologies.
