Overview We are seeking a Director of Operations to lead one of our specialist medical practices, a multi-site clinical organisation. This role requires a hands-on, high-capability leader who can oversee day-to-day operations while driving continuous improvement, service quality, and organisational growth. The Director will partner closely with medical specialists and senior leadership to ensure seamless clinic operations, strong patient experience, and effective team management across all sites. Responsibilities Lead and oversee overall clinic operations across multiple sites, ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning, quality service standards, and regulatory compliance. Supervise and develop Operations Managers, providing direction, coaching, and oversight on performance, staffing, and operational issues. Drive workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and development initiatives to ensure adequate staffing and capability building for the practice. Manage onboarding and integration of medical specialists, including coordination on licensing, clinic setup, and operational readiness. Oversee vendor relationships, service contracts, equipment maintenance, and procurement processes to ensure cost-effectiveness and operational reliability. Ensure all regulatory and licensing requirements are met, including timely submissions and coordination with relevant authorities. Support financial and operational performance monitoring, including reviewing operating costs, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing efficiency measures. Enhance service quality and patient experience by standardising operating procedures, improving workflow efficiency, and resolving escalated service issues. Collaborate with marketing and clinical teams to support GP engagement activities, marketing initiatives, and events. Partner with IT teams to ensure stable clinic systems, troubleshoot system issues, and support digital workflow improvements. Lead and manage key operational projects, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and project goals are met. Work closely with senior leadership and medical teams to support growth strategies, operational planning, and business expansion. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Management, or a related field. Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in an operational leadership or multi-site management role. Experience in healthcare, medical practice operations, or other service-oriented environments is strongly preferred. Proven track record in leading teams, improving operations, and implementing process or service improvements. Experience working with clinicians, specialists, or senior medical professionals is an advantage. Technical & Professional Skills Strong understanding of clinic operations, regulatory requirements, vendor management, and service workflows. Comfortable reviewing budgets, operational costs, and performance metrics. Familiarity with healthcare IT systems, digital workflows, and operational systems (e.g., EHR, PACS) preferred. Strong project management skills with the ability to deliver multiple initiatives concurrently. Leadership & Personal Attributes Hands-on leader who can operate at both strategic and tactical levels. Strong people management skills with the ability to coach, develop, and guide operational teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with clinicians, managers, and cross-functional teams. Resourceful, proactive, and able to make sound decisions in fast-moving or ambiguous situations. High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to service excellence.
