Overview What the role is: As an Assistant Engineer, you may be deployed to one of PUB’s five Operations Departments to manage and develop Singapore’s water resources: 1. Catchment & Waterways 2. Water Supply (Plants) 3. Water Supply (Network) 4. Water Reclamation (Plants) 5. Water Reclamation (Network). The departments include: Catchment & Waterways (C&W) — plans, develops and manages reservoirs and waterways for water supply and flood control; Water Supply Plants (WSP) — operates and maintains water treatment and desalination plants to produce safe drinking water; Water Supply Network (WSN) — delivers reliable water supply to businesses and end-users, with network optimisation, maintenance, renewal, planning and data management; Water Reclamation Plants (WRP) — treats used water for NEWater or Industrial Water and safe discharge; Water Reclamation Network (WRN) — collects and conveys used water for reclamation, including planning & design of sewerage infrastructures, network operation and maintenance, and project management. What you will be working on Support plant operations and maintenance of equipment Field work as first responders to incidents on-site at installations/customers’ premises, providing on-site investigation, troubleshooting and resolution Attend and manage customer feedback pertaining to water supply or drainage matters Carry out routine inspections of drainage network systems within flood-sensitive areas Patrol reservoirs, catchment areas, pumping stations, dams, intake towers, infrastructures, and pipelines, etc., and in other areas as required Assist engineers in budgeting of projects, as well as in the preparation works leading to tender calling of projects Assist engineers in project management work What we are looking for Diploma in Engineering (e.g., Civil/Environmental, Mechanical and Electrical, or other relevant disciplines)Able to work well independently and in teams Good communication and interpersonal skills with a positive, can-do attitude Competent in basic computer skills, e.g., Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)About PUB, The National Water Agency PUB is an organisation recognised internationally for good water management.
