Safety Management Specialist

About The Job

The Safety Management Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the company's safety management system (SMS) is implemented and maintained, as well as compliance with applicable regulations and standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive SMS to ensure compliance with international safety conventions and industrial standards.
  • Conducting regular risk assessments and workplace hazard analyses to identify potential hazards and develop corrective action plans.
  • Leading investigations into accidents, near misses, and incidents; preparing detailed reports and lessons learned.
  • Maintaining records of safety performance and compliance metrics.
  • Providing training on occupational health and safety procedures, emergency response, and compliance obligations.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates should have:

  • 3-5 years of experience in maritime, offshore, industrial, or heavy engineering safety management.
  • Familiarity with international safety conventions and industrial standards.
  • Strong knowledge of safety and compliance regulations.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and training facilitation skills.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Proactive and safety-driven mindset.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle regulatory documentation.
  • Effective crisis management and decision-making under pressure.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
