Job Summary
The Manager, Seal Segments will play a pivotal role in establishing and leading the Seal Segments operations at the SAESL Seletar Facility (SSF). This position involves the initial setup of the cell, including the integration of the innovative Direct Laser Deposition (DLD) process. Once operational, the Manager will oversee the production, quality control, and continuous improvement of seal segments, ensuring that all processes align with company objectives and meet customer requirements. This role is integral to contributing to SAESL"s annual component repair revenue of USD35M, driving excellence and innovation in seal segment manufacturing.
Job Description

• Cell Setup: Lead the setup of the Seal Segments cell, including the integration of the Direct Laser Deposition (DLD) process, ensuring the setup is delivered within scope, to cost, with safety, quality and timeline requirements met.
• Project Management: Coordinate with cross-functional teams to manage projects related to seal segments, including new product introductions and process improvements.
• Operational Management: Oversee daily operations of the Seal Segments department, ensuring efficient production processes and adherence to safety standards.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all seal segments meet OEM specifications and customer requirements.
• Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of technicians and engineers, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
• Customer Engagement: Liaise with customers to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction with seal segment products.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce costs.
• Reporting: Prepare and present reports on seal segment operations, including production metrics, quality issues, and improvement initiatives.
  

Qualification/Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, proficiency in project management, and a solid understanding of quality control principles.
• Familiarity with seal segment production processes and equipment, including CNC milling, EDM, and inspection techniques
• Experience in the aerospace industry and component repair.
• Knowledge of OEM specifications and requirements for seal segments.
• Certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
