About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Research Fellow to contribute to our team at the Institute for Digital Molecular Analytics and Science (IDMxS).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and optimize analytical assays based on optical imaging of functionalized nanospheres and their interactions with biological targets, including nucleic acids and proteins.
  • Synthesize or prepare required assay materials.
  • Test various assay conditions and sample types, potentially clinical samples.
  • Assist in identifying ideal assay targets based on literature/market/survey-based research.
  • Collaborate with other IDMxS research clusters to package optimized assays into a commercial product.
  • Perform outreach and collaborate with industry and clinical partners.
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in the field through literature reviews.
  • Author regular reports and presentations to keep stakeholders updated on progress.
  • Contribute to publications and patent applications.
  • Conceptualize and propose novel assays in collaboration with other IDMxS researchers when feasible.
  • Supervise PhD and undergraduate student projects as required.
Job Requirements:
  • PhD Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Biophysics, or related disciplines.
  • Excellent knowledge in biochemistry/biophysics, particularly nucleic acid design and protein interactions.
  • Experience in analytical assay design and optimization is preferred.
  • Experience with optical imaging methods is also preferred.
  • Nanomaterials synthesis (gold/silver) and conjugation experience is beneficial.
  • Good writing and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly multidisciplinary team-based environment.
