We are looking foran ambitious Senior Research Fellow or Research Fellow tocontribute to an RNA biology and epigenetics project in thelaboratory of Assistant Professor Li Yinghui at SBS. The role willfocus on characterizing the interactions of long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs) with RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) and the epigeneticfunctions of these ribonucleoprotein complexes using cancer celllines and in vivo tumor models. The work will also include thedevelopment of RNA-based therapeutics and evaluation of theirefficacy using preclinical mouse models.

KeyResponsibilities:
  • Designingand executing experiments and analyses independently tocharacterize lncRNA-RBP interactions and epigenetic functionslinked to cancer progression. Key techniques include RNAimmunoprecipitation (RIP), RNA pull-down assay, RNA-FISH, RACE,molecular cloning, site-directed mutagenesis, CRISPR-mediated geneediting, CLIP-seq and ChIP/ChIP-seq.
  • Organizingand documenting experimental procedures, reagents and data in alaboratory logbook.
  • Preparing manuscripts andassist in writing grant proposals.
  • Presentresearch at lab meetings and local/internationalconferences.
  • Mentor and train junior staff andstudents (undergraduate interns and postgraduate students)contributing to the research progress and productivity of thelab.
  • Collaborative teamwork isessential.


JobRequirements:
  • PhD inBiology, Molecular/Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or relateddisciplines (Senior Research Fellow applicants should have at least4 years of relevant postdoctoralexperience).
  • Proficiency in the followingareas: Mammalian cell culture, lentivirus production andtransduction, standard molecular biology and biochemicaltechniques, RNA biology, tumor xenograft mousemodels.
  • Strong written and oral communicationskills.
  • Strong publication record, especiallyat least a first author paper in the relevantareas.
  • Entry level candidates with relevantexperience are welcome toapply.
