Roles & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities 1. Global Regulatory Compliance & Certification Lead and execute product certifications across EU, US, Canada, and Asia (CE, FCC, UL, KC, PSE, TELEC, NCC, etc.). Manage full compliance lifecycle: EMC, electrical safety, mechanical safety, functional safety, and environmental (RoHS, REACH). Prepare and maintain Technical Files, Declaration of Conformity (DoC), and compliance matrices for all products. Liaise directly with accredited test labs (TÜV, DEKRA, UL, SGS, Intertek) to plan and execute formal compliance tests. Ensure products meet IEC/ISO standards — particularly IEC 60335-2-72, ISO 13849, IEC 60730, and EN 18031-1 (cybersecurity). 2. Compliance Integration in Product Development Partner with hardware, software, and mechanical teams to design compliance into products from concept to launch. Conduct risk assessments (FMEA, DFMEA, functional safety, SISTEMA) and drive corrective/preventive actions. Ensure design teams integrate safety architecture, grounding, isolation, and EMC principles into early prototypes. Represent compliance during design reviews, gate reviews (EV/DV/PV/SOP), and change control boards. 3. Testing & Validation Oversight Develop comprehensive compliance test plans and roadmaps for new products and sustaining variants. Oversee pre-certification testing (EMI/EMC, electrical, mechanical, thermal, vibration, environmental). Coordinate sample preparation, lab submissions, and track all test reports, deviations, and rework actions. Analyze results and work cross-functionally to close gaps before formal certification. 4. Documentation, Audits & Regulatory Readiness Maintain 100% accurate and audit-ready documentation for all product lines. Manage DoC, test reports, CB reports, BoMs, component certificates, and safety calculations. Support external audits from notified bodies and internal design assurance audits. Implement version control and digital tracking for compliance evidence (SharePoint / PLM / ERP integration). 5. Supplier & Component Compliance Management Validate all purchased components for UL recognition, RoHS, REACH, PFAS, and other material regulations Develop and maintain an Approved Component Compliance Database. Partner with the Supply Chain and Quality teams to ensure supplier declarations and COC validity. Conduct supplier audits or compliance checks for high-risk components or sub-assemblies. 6. Training & Cross-Functional Leadership Provide compliance training and awareness programs to engineers and PMs. Act as the single point of contact for all compliance-related matters during NPD and sustaining projects. Guide design and test engineers to interpret and apply international standards correctly. Collaborate with Product Management and Regulatory Affairs to ensure market-specific readiness. 7. Continuous Improvement & Regulatory Monitoring Track and interpret emerging global standards and directives (e.g., IEC, ISO, EU RED updates). Conduct compliance gap analyses and propose process improvements to reduce certification lead time. Benchmark LionsBot’s compliance framework against best practices in robotics, automation, and consumer electronics. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical / Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field. 5+ years in product compliance, certification, or testing — ideally within robotics, industrial automation, or consumer electronics. Proven experience managing CE/FCC/UL certifications and direct engagement with test labs. Strong technical understanding of EMC design, insulation coordination, safety circuits, and functional safety (ISO 13849 / IEC 61508). Deep knowledge of IEC/ISO/EN/UL standards: 60335, 60730, 61000, 62368, 13849, 61508. Hands-on experience with FMEA, DFMEA, risk assessment, and functional safety analysis tools. Familiarity with SISTEMA, LabView, or equivalent compliance analysis tools is advantageous. Proficiency in managing documentation systems (e.g., PLM, SharePoint, or Notion-based compliance dashboards).
