Overview
Production Assembly Operator II (IR Coating) at BIOTRONIK, a leading manufacturer of cardio- and endovascular medical devices. Based in Berlin, Germany, with global representation in over 100 countries, BIOTRONIK advances cardiology and improves patient lives through the work of its skilled employees.
Process Technician II is responsible for executing production processes in a production cell, independently handling tasks and contributing to achieving production objectives. This role follows established Kaizen processes and Working Instructions. The technician is trained on multiple processes and may have cross-training within the same cell or to other cells. The technician may perform sampling checks for new hires under stage 2 during trainer absence.
The role is measured by quality, quantity, and adherence to deadlines to help meet cost, quality, and delivery targets. If required, the technician may assist with Incident/Accident investigations to identify root causes and support risk assessments.
Responsibilities
- Follows the currently valid guidelines (e.g. working instructions, process descriptions, hygiene rules, environmental protection guidelines, cGMP, clear table policies)
- Independently executes different process steps and monitors process execution according to written working instructions, based on training level
- Notifies the supervisor of observed discrepancies (process and quality discrepancies, security breaches, outdated calibration data, deviations in documentation)
- Maintains correct and conform documentation (e.g. completing move tickets or inspection protocols)
- Highlights issues to the supervisor or HR department as needed
- Participates actively in the Kaizen process (e.g. minimizing waste)
- Contributes to a positive working culture
- Performs tasks defined by the supervisor that belong to an operator's responsibilities or are necessary to achieve organizational performance
- Maintains a safe work environment and ensures maintenance of the facility
- Performs sampling checks for new hires under stage 2 training during trainer absence
- Able to train new hires on production processes (Trainer only)
Qualifications
- Completed professional education preferred
- Experience in a clean room environment is advantageous
- Experience in a production environment with inspection tasks or machine handling is preferable
- Experience as a Process Technician for at least 3 years with outstanding performance
- Certified as trainer by process owner (Trainer)
