About the Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially Manager for Category Insights & Analytics to support strategic decision-making for the Category Management team. This role will focus on translating data into actionable insights to drive revenue, improve margin, and optimize category performance across Southeast Asia. The ideal candidate is experienced in using business intelligence tools and market research to support growth strategies and has a solid grasp of retail dynamics in the beauty or consumer space.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting & Performance Monitoring
  • Own and maintain regular reporting and dashboards; ensure data accuracy and timely delivery to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the BI team to maintain automated weekly/monthly reports and category/brand dashboards
  • Prepare business reviews and reports for senior leadership and regional brand meetings
  • Consolidate and manage inputs for Joint Business Planning (JBP) sessions
Budgeting & Sales Tracking
  • Lead data analysis and provide recommendations during annual budgeting cycles
  • Track sales performance versus targets; identify gaps and support short-term tactical solutions
  • Provide forecasting support to optimize sales and margin
Margin & Pricing Analytics
  • Drive profitability analysis across key categories and markets
  • Conduct pricing reviews and scenario modelling for commercial activities
  • Act as the key liaison between finance and category teams for markdown and margin governance processes
Market & Consumer Insights
  • Leverage internal and external data sources to benchmark performance and identify category/brand opportunities
  • Lead consumer studies in partnership with research agencies to uncover whitespace opportunities and drive strategic decisions
  • Stay ahead of beauty and retail trends to provide timely market intelligence updates
Category Development & Strategy
  • Lead deep-dive analysis to support assortment optimization, promotions, and brand/category strategies
  • Answer ad-hoc commercial queries with data-backed insights
  • Support the evolution and development of category dashboards and tools for regional use
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a data-driven analytics role, ideally in retail, FMCG, or beauty
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Excel; comfortable with tools like Tableau, Domo, or other BI platforms
  • Exposure to ERP or retail systems (e.g., SAP, Retail Pro) a strong plus
  • Strong commercial awareness with hands-on experience in pricing, category planning, or merchandising
