Teacher Librarian Role

We are seeking an experienced Teacher Librarian to join our educational community. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for teaching and learning, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The successful applicant will be responsible for creating a positive and inclusive library environment that inspires students to develop a love of reading and lifelong learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspire students' love of reading through effective programming and initiatives.
  • Foster independent learning by developing research and information literacy skills in students.
  • Promote academic integrity through targeted workshops and student mentoring.
  • Teach students how to use digital resources to support their research and learning.
  • Support students in gathering resources and structuring research for projects.

Library Management:

  • Organise and maintain the library's physical and digital collections using appropriate systems.

Collaboration & Support:

  • Work closely with teachers and school leadership to ensure library resources support the curriculum.

Community Engagement:

  • Develop partnerships with external organisations to enhance students' learning experiences.

Wellbeing & Safety:

  • Maintain a safe and inclusive library environment.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Stay up-to-date with curriculum developments and best practices in education.
  • Contribute to school marketing efforts by sharing student success stories and progress highlights.
  • Support accreditation and audit processes as required.
