As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our workplace. Your primary responsibility will be to develop, implement, and review our Workplace Safety and Health Management Systems (WSHMS) to ensure that they are effective in preventing accidents and injuries.
Safety Responsibilities
You will be responsible for conducting regular risk assessments and recommending corrective/preventive actions to minimize hazards and prevent accidents. You will also lead accident/incident investigations and implement follow-up actions to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
In addition, you will plan and conduct safety training and toolbox meetings to educate employees on safety procedures and protocols. You will also liaise with regulatory bodies such as the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) during inspections or audits.
You will maintain accurate documentation of safety records, inspections, incidents, and trainings to ensure that we are complying with all relevant regulations and laws.
Fire Safety Responsibilities
You will act as the appointed Fire Safety Manager in accordance with the Fire Safety Act and be responsible for conducting annual fire drills, emergency preparedness exercises, and evacuation planning. You will also develop and implement Emergency Response Plans (ERP) and inspect and ensure the functionality of fire safety systems such as extinguishers, alarms, and sprinklers.
You will liaise with SCDF on fire safety matters and ensure that we are complying with fire code requirements. You will also provide fire safety training to staff and fire wardens.
Requirements
- A degree/diploma in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or related field is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in WSH and Fire Safety management in construction/building facilities is required.
- You must be Registered WSHO (Workplace Safety and Health Officer) with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
- You must be registered as a Certified Fire Safety Manager (FSM) by SCDF.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore's WSH Act, Code of Practices, and Fire Safety Act is required.
- A proven track record of managing and improving workplace safety programs is essential.
- Experience with site inspections, hazard identification, risk assessments, and accident investigations is required.
- You must be able to work in cross-functional teams, collaborating with project managers, engineers, and contractors.
