Healthcare Infrastructure Specialist

Biomedical Engineer
This key role involves contributing to multiple competency areas, including facilities and equipment management, preventive maintenance planning, project execution, IT systems integration, vendor management, regulatory compliance, cost efficiency, operational insight, and technical leadership.
- Ensure timely maintenance and replacement of biomedical assets, equipment, and fixtures to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to extend asset lifespan and reduce reactive servicing.
- Support infrastructure improvement projects, ensuring alignment with clinical needs and operational timelines.
- Liaise with IT Support Services to resolve computer hardware issues, manage cabling infrastructure, and integrate IT software systems for seamless operations.
- Draft, negotiate, and manage service contracts with vendors/suppliers, ensuring compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
- Collaborate with management to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Analyse biomedical devices and facilities operations to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive process improvements.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
Key qualifications include:
- A degree in Engineering or related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience; or
- A Diploma in Facilities Management Engineering or related field with at least 8 years of demonstrated competency.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and standards (e.g., Joint Commission, OSHA).
- Independent, resourceful, and collaborative with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in healthcare, hospital operations, or large institutional environments is preferred.
