Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and diligent Laboratory Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the laboratory technical staff in various areas such as specimen processing, procurement, and lab testing under direct supervision.
Key Responsibilities:

• Follow all laboratory protocols and policies when checking specimens received and ensure that names match request forms for testing.

• Follow test requirements of reference laboratories and procure appropriate specimens for testing.

• Perform barcoding samples and process laboratory specimens received from patients according to prescribed guidelines.

• Utilize centrifuges and other lab equipment to process specimens and prepare them for testing.

• Receive and distribute requested stock items to the appropriate location within the laboratory.
Requirements:

• Minimum N-Level certification.

• Relevant work experience in a medical laboratory environment is preferred, but not required for candidates with no experience.

• Ability to start work immediately and commit to a 5.5-day week with rotational shifts, including weekends and rostered public holidays.

• A positive work attitude and strong teamwork skills are essential for success in this role.
Required Skills:

• Microsoft Office proficiency, including Excel.

• Excellent housekeeping and inventory management skills.

• Strong specimen handling and data entry skills.

• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

• Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
