Job Summary
The Senior Costing Manager plays a critical role in managing and optimizing the cost structure of outsourced manufacturing operations. This position oversees the financial and operational aspects of third-party manufacturing relationships, ensuring compliance with quality standards, cost efficiency, and strategic alignment with business goals. The role requires strong leadership, analytical acumen, and cross-functional collaboration to drive value across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Management & Analysis
Lead costing activities for contract manufacturing operations, including cost modeling, variance analysis, and cost optimization initiatives.
Respond to cost and feasibility requests and obtain vendor quotations to support strategic decision-making.
Contract Manufacturing Oversight
Manage relationships with third-party manufacturers, addressing technical issues, schedule conflicts, and quality concerns.
Ensure all products are manufactured in compliance with GMP and internal quality standards.
Vendor Evaluation & Selection
Identify and assess potential new contractors, including financial stability and operational capability.
Lead vendor selection processes and performance evaluations.
Documentation & Compliance
Coordinate the development and maintenance of contractor manuals and related documentation.
Ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met across all contract manufacturing activities.
Leadership & Team Development
Provide guidance, training, and performance management for direct reports.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in costing, supply chain, or manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
Strong understanding of GMP, cost accounting principles, and vendor management.
Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
