Job Title: Aquaculture Research Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Aquaculture Research Specialist to join our research team.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and conducting life science related R&D experiments and routine operations with a focus on aquaculture. This includes husbandry, fish breeding, developmental biology, transcriptomics, routine molecular biology techniques, optimization of operations, diagnostics, health, and genetics.
Key responsibilities include working with the project leader and co-project leaders to achieve the aim of the research projects, mentoring students involved in final year projects, internships, short-term work attachments, and similar programs, as well as supporting the procurement of consumables and equipment together with lab management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Life Science, Aquaculture, Agriculture or Molecular Biology.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with people at all levels.
- Possess sound planning, organizing, good multi-tasking skills, with a strong sense of responsibility for completing assigned duties on time.
- Proficient in IT skills.
- Good documentation skills, laboratory techniques, research and data analysis skills.
Requirements:
- Experience in aquaculture operations and/or research would be an added advantage.
