Job Summary
Reporting to the Distribution Manager, the Senior Material Controller ensures that the Company doesn't run out of the materials needed to produce its products. This role will manage the flow of inventory and ensure that the parts are properly shipped to customers. He/she will help to set up a schedule for ordering materials, while maintaining an efficient inventory by optimizing current processes & systems. He/she will also be responsible for managing relationships with suppliers, promoting customer satisfaction, and developing positive customer relationships involving supply and delivery. He/she will lead projects to enhance systems and processes.
Job Responsibilities
Plan, provision, source, subcontract, and purchase spares and components from approved suppliers at optimum inventory levels to meet customer turnaround times.
Evaluate demand plans of the Aircraft types to determine optimal levels of provisioning in consideration of Standard Replacement Parts, Leadtime/Availability, and Conditional Parts.
Manage provisioning actively and adjust incoming orders (accelerate, delay, or cancel) to meet actualized demand plans.
Manage demand exceptions and excursions to ensure smooth production runs through coordination with cross-functional teams.
Participate actively in continuous improvement programs and take initiative to enhance material planning processes.
Perform material price analysis as well as cost analysis.
Update purchase order records and liaise with suppliers on discrepancies.
Maximize fill rates and monitor and improve supplier performance.
Provide updates on supplier delivery status during production meetings.
Ensure in-house fabricated bushing requirements and specifications are met.
Monitor all sub-contract orders to meet shop requirements.
Carry out assigned reporting requirements.
Contribute actively to HSE development and improvement.
Perform any other duties that may be assigned.
Job Requirements
Degree in Materials Management, Purchasing Management, or other related disciplines.
Familiarity with Airworthiness Certifications.
Familiarity with internet capabilities and experience with application software.
Experience in MRP or SAP preferred.
Good communication, interpersonal skills, and situational awareness.
