You are invited to join HVDC as a Category Specialist to contribute to the global sourcing initiatives in collaboration with the global category manager. Your role will involve translating category strategies into actionable plans, working closely with the Project team and internal stakeholders to ensure optimal business outcomes. It is essential to ensure that procurement activities align with HVDC's Business Strategies and corporate purchasing policies and procedures. As a Category Specialist, you will participate in projects and implement strategies outlined during the Tendering phase. This position offers an opportunity to be part of a growing team where you can shape your role within the company. We encourage you to apply even if you do not meet all the requirements.Your responsibilities will include supporting strategic sourcing activities in collaboration with the category manager, conducting RFQs and RFPs for BRM and project execution to meet budget, quality, and lead time targets set in the strategy. You will be responsible for ensuring timely responses from suppliers, benchmarking studies, implementing and managing category strategies to deliver savings and efficiencies, and maintaining relationships with suppliers to enhance value for money and continuous improvement.In addition, you will be involved in updating costs for project execution, managing the category supply base, monitoring agreements and contracts in SAP Ariba, ensuring supplier compliance with HVDC's requirements, conducting supplier evaluations, initiating improvement projects, and facilitating clear communication internally and externally.The ideal candidate for this role should possess an academic degree in a relevant field such as BE (Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical), Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience. Professional experience in supply chain functions, category management, strategic sourcing, project management, or procurement is required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with fluency in English (written and spoken), are essential.
