PhD Academic Advisor (Remote, Full-Time) Specializing in UK/US PhD Application Coaching Key Responsibilities 1. Document Review & Research Plan Quality Assurance Review students’ CVs, Personal Statements, and Research Proposals. Provide detailed professional feedback to ensure logical clarity, academic rigor, and alignment with UK/US graduate school standards. Guide students in refining their research direction and methodological framework. 2. Interview Preparation & Coaching Conduct mock PhD interviews with students. Train students in academic communication, logical presentation, and demonstrating research depth during conversations with prospective supervisors. Coach students on how to articulate research motivation, background, and project ideas. 3. Academic Matching & Communication Support Communicate with overseas professors to assess alignment between students’ research interests and potential supervisors. Guide students on how to write appropriate outreach emails and establish academic dialogue. Evaluate whether students fully understand their research questions, framework, and methodologies. 4. Research Proposal Evaluation Assess the academic depth, feasibility, and clarity of students’ research proposals. Provide systematic and constructive improvement suggestions to enhance research logic, originality, and structure. 5. Meeting Participation & Academic Facilitation Join online meetings with students and supervisors when needed. Help facilitate productive and clear communication during academic discussions. Assist students in translating ideas into concrete, actionable research plans. Qualifications Education PhD degree from the United Kingdom or the United States is required. (Preferred fields: Psychology, Education, Management, Social Sciences, or related disciplines.) Experience Prior experience in academic advising, manuscript reviewing, or research project mentoring is strongly preferred. Language Skills English writing and speaking at C1–C2 proficiency; must be able to communicate effectively with UK/US professors. Professional Mindset Highly responsible, detail-oriented, and committed to long-term academic work. Must be able to focus on this full-time role — no side jobs or multiple concurrent projects. Professional Ethics Strong sense of confidentiality and professional integrity. Must not disclose student information or take private freelance assignments. Work Arrangement & Compensation Employment Type Full-time, remote (Remote Full-time) Work Schedule Flexible hours, but availability during UK business hours is required. Location No need to be based in the UK; candidates may work remotely from any country in Eastern Europe. Start Date Immediate start or within 7 days.
