Responsibilities: Design and execute strategies to foster R&D partnerships and drive commercialization work with ecosystem of industry partners, startups, academia, public agencies, and industry associations to fuel R&D and industry growth in Singapore. Collaborate with industry partners to adopt technology portfolios through licensing and collaboration. Leverage domain knowledge to understand companies' aspirations and challenges. Lead industry collaboration discussions during meetings. Understand and apply contractual terms during negotiations with industry collaborations and internal stakeholders. Lead the department to achieve strategic goals through effective planning and execution, and anchor success story narratives. Mentor junior staff in account management, research collaboration, licensing deal structuring, project management, and costing. Required Skills: Understanding of business processes, industry needs, priorities, and trends. Experience in structuring licensing deals, collaborations, and contract terms. Ability to curate and match technology portfolios with industry needs, and articulate technology applications' impacts. Strong communication skills to influence and motivate teams, provide strategic direction, and offer constructive feedback. Proficiency in relationship-building and management with internal and external partners. Innovativeness in problem-solving, strategy development, and market engagement. Agility in adapting to changes and challenges, maintaining focus on measurable results and objectives. Knowledge of industry dynamics, value chains, ecosystems, and public agency programs (e.g., A*STAR, EDB, Enterprise Singapore) and their roles in assisting companies. Insights for technology and market intelligence, customer requirements, market validation, and product development lifecycle, including regulatory and market entry requirements. Qualifications: At least 5 years of business development, commercialisation, licensing, innovation, venture creation, and/or related work experience, preferably in private-sector Pharma/Biotech. Bachelor or Masters (Ph D is advantageous) in biochemistry, biomedical / life sciences, biomedical engineering, business management with experience in a biomedical research environment, or an equivalent discipline. Proven track record in a similar role, demonstrating the ability to lead and inspire teams. Strong functional domain (Bioprocessing and Biomanufacturing/Small Molecule, Nucleic Acid and Gene Therapy, AI for Drug Discovery/Cell Therapy and Biologics) expertise, industry knowledge and experience in fostering R&D partnerships and commercialization strategies. In-depth knowledge of drug discovery and development is preferred. Experience in intellectual property management and business strategy development. Proven ability to exert influence at multiple levels across an organisation with strong collaboration and persuasion skills to achieve intended outcomes. Outstanding abilities for writing, oral communication, and presentations for a broad range of audience, including senior management. Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Proactive team player motivated to deliver quickly and accurately.
