PLSQL Architect

Job Title: PLSQL Architect We are seeking an experienced Oracle PL/SQL Architect to design, develop, and maintain database-driven applications for our insurance systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Oracle PL/SQL programming and a solid understanding of insurance industry processes, such as policy management, claims processing, underwriting, and billing. You will work closely with business analysts, stakeholders, and IT teams to deliver scalable, efficient, and secure database solutions that support critical insurance operations. Key Responsibilities Database Development: Analyze, Design, develop, and optimize complex PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and views to support insurance applications. Data Integration: Develop ETL processes to integrate data from various sources, ensuring accurate data flow for policy administration, claims, and reporting. Performance Tuning: Optimize SQL queries and PL/SQL code to enhance database performance, ensuring efficient processing of large datasets common in insurance systems. Data Modeling: Collaborate with data architects to design and implement logical and physical data models tailored to insurance workflows (e.g., premiums, claims, reinsurance). Reporting & Analytics: Develop database scripts to support business intelligence reports, dashboards, and analytics for actuarial, underwriting, and financial teams. Compliance & Security: Ensure database solutions comply with insurance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, or local standards) and implement secure coding practices to protect sensitive customer data. Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, application developers, and QA engineers, to gather requirements and deliver robust solutions. Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for database designs, processes, and code for future reference and audits. Required Skills and Qualifications Experience 10+ years in Oracle PL/SQL development with at least 4+ years of experience in Architecture & Design. 3+ years in the insurance industry or familiarity with insurance processes. Technical Skills Proficient in Oracle Database (11g/12c/19c), PL/SQL programming, and SQL query optimization. Experience with Oracle tools like SQL Developer, TOAD, or SQL*Plus. Knowledge of data modeling, indexing, and partitioning for high‐volume databases. Familiarity with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Oracle Data Integrator) is a plus. Understanding of insurance‐specific data structures (e.g., policy, claims, or customer data). Soft Skills Strong problem‐solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work with technical and non‐technical stakeholders. Ability to work in a fast‐paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Nice‐to‐Have Experience with Oracle Forms/Reports, APEX, or Java integration with PL/SQL. Knowledge of insurance platforms like Guidewire, Duck Creek, or InsureTech solutions. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Oracle Cloud, AWS, or Azure) and database migration. Certification in Oracle Database or PL/SQL development.
