AWS is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Data Center Technician to join our Infrastructure Operations team. Data Center Operations designs, installs, and maintains the world's largest Computing Infrastructure, including systems, repair work, issue handling, parts tracking, and data center maintenance. Amazon Data Centers are large-scale, high-density facilities where you will help shape technology in the region.

Responsibilities

• On-site management of the hardware lifecycle of IT infrastructure, including server rack installation and hardware break-fix on various components
• Troubleshoot network issues and respond to emergent situations affecting operational stability
• Work to meet SLAs against assigned trouble tickets via a directed workflow; serve as the first line for hardware troubleshooting
• Perform on-call duties and participate in data center operations, including scheduled maintenance and change management activities
• Participate in team meetings for metric analysis and to achieve daily/weekly goals
• Adhere to department safety and security policies and procedures
• Contribute to documentation on technical issues and participate in process improvement initiatives
• Assist in training less experienced team members as needed
• Support 24x7 shift rotations

A day in the life

You will support data center infrastructure equipment (racks, servers, networking devices, hardware components, cables, etc.). You will follow ticket-based instructions, perform systematic problem resolution, and conduct routine operations on hardware or spare parts, including rack installation and server break/fix.

You will perform on-call duties, participate in scheduled maintenance and change management, and show strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving. You will contribute to site management and maintain tidy operation areas. This role involves covering 24x7 shift rotation.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Computer/server hardware troubleshooting experience
• Computer networking experience, including fiber troubleshooting and theory
• Minimum 2+ years in a relevant field

Preferred Qualifications

• Linux operating system, hardware, or networking certifications
• Knowledge of cloud computing environments
• Understanding of IT service management and data center safety and security
