Marine Propulsion Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marine Propulsion Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and overhauls of marine propulsion equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and Repairs:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on marine propulsion equipment, including planning, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing minor issues.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of equipment to identify potential problems and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with other technicians to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Overhauls and Commissioning:
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute major overhauls of marine propulsion equipment, involving yard, basin, and sea trials.
  • Commission new gearboxes, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Electrical System Troubleshooting:
  • Interpret electrical drawings and perform basic troubleshooting of faults on electrical systems with minimal guidance.
  • Documentation and Communication:
  • Generate detailed field service reports, including before-and-after photos, for client review.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and management to ensure seamless project execution.

Requirements:

  • Education:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience:
  • At least 3 years of experience in the marine industry, specifically in propulsion.
  • Skill Set:
  • Ability to perform troubleshooting on propulsion-related equipment with minimal guidance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to travel overseas for assignments and deploy within short notice periods.
