Senior Currency Trader

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Currency Trader to manage our dealing activities.

About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding role that will allow you to leverage your expertise in foreign exchange trading to help us manage risks and grow our business.

You will be responsible for managing dealing activities, including spot, forwards, swaps, and NDFs, as well as collaborating with other teams to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage dealing activities across various markets, with a focus on APAC currencies.
  • Help us manage group-wide FX risks and liquidity trades to ensure we have money where our customers need it.
  • Manage day-to-day FX Trading hedging activities during APAC timezone, including correlation strategy across FX products Spot, Forwards & NDFs.
  • Work closely with Treasury Data Analysts & Scientists to assess risk over upcoming market events, product launches, and regular assessment of existing trading strategies.
  • Collaborate with Treasury Liquidity Operations & Regional Banking to optimise funding and reduce Treasury costs.
  • Be a point of contact and help manage relationships with international banks and counterparties across the APAC region.
  • Support Global Wise Platform and Product teams with Treasury solutions on new or existing currencies & product launches.
  • Take part in initiatives aimed at making upgrades to our dealing strategy, policies, controls, and systems.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 8-10+ years FX trading experience across a variety of markets with a focus on APAC currencies.
  • Experience managing dealing activities, preferably in a buy/sell side FX dealing environment and/or Treasury functions.
  • Confident dealing spot, forwards, swaps, and NDFs to manage live exposures.
  • An experienced professional relationship builder with banks and counterparties.
  • A leader with experience managing a small team.
  • Experience in a change environment, with broad collaboration.
  • Proficient prioritiser - you make the right decisions on how to allocate time and effort.

Please note that some extra skills would be great but not essential:

  • Experience in the payments industry/fintech space.
  • Experience with settlements and operating teams.
  • Experience with Asset Management execution (Bonds, MMFs etc).
