Business Development Overview The organization is seeking a Business Development & Partnerships Director for the Asia region to drive its ambitious expansion efforts.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of both traditional financial services and digital asset markets in Asia.
This role will involve building new business opportunities as well as enhancing existing relationships in the region.
The selected individual will oversee initiatives from start to finish and create a strategic growth plan, while also benefiting from guidance provided by the team.
With market-leading liquidity products and numerous strategic growth opportunities in the pipeline, this role offers significant potential without the constraints of legacy processes or bureaucratic hurdles.
Key Responsibilities Develop and execute a growth strategy for institutional OTC business in Asia, targeting banks, asset managers, and funds.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce new products to market, gathering customer feedback and formulating launch plans.
Expand the liquidity provision business for crypto projects by fostering relationships with prominent local projects, venture capitalists, and other key players in the ecosystem.
Cultivate partnerships with critical stakeholders, such as exchanges, custodians, lenders, and other infrastructure providers.
Work alongside various teams to enhance brand awareness in key Asian markets, including Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia, and Australia.
Implement a structured business development process and collaborate with teams to improve operational efficiency, such as through CRM and campaign effectiveness.
Monitor key developments within the crypto ecosystem and proactively identify business opportunities and collaborations.
Hard Skills Requirements Experience in both traditional finance and digital asset services, with a background in high-performing teams and institutions.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in FICC sales (voice or electronic) with institutional clients; e Commerce experience is a plus.
Proficiency with spot and derivatives OTC products, particularly options, is essential.
A background in business development, partnerships, or client-facing roles within financial services.
Proven track record of delivering business results, with an emphasis on achieving quantitative targets.
Familiarity with key Asian markets, coupled with an understanding of both Asian and Western business practices.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on educating counterparts about services rather than conventional sales tactics.
The ability to convey information clearly and follow up in a timely manner is crucial.
Knowledge of trading or cryptocurrency is a significant advantage, along with a willingness to learn about blockchain technologies, algorithmic trading, and liquidity provision.
Proficiency in Mandarin or another major Asian language is preferred.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
