We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the MEP Technical Services team for luxury hospitality projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, along with proven leadership and project management expertise. This role is responsible for overseeing the technical delivery of MEP services across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with brand and industry standards while driving sustainability initiatives.
Responsibilities
Provide technical advisory services to ensure adherence to brand standards for new-build, conversion, re-branding, and refurbishment projects from design stage through to opening.
Prepare engineering services briefs, review and comment on consultants designs for efficiency, appropriateness, and operational feasibility.
Support due diligence processes for potential new, conversion, or renovation projects, and conduct pre-opening reviews against brand requirements.
Carry out site visits and technical inspections to ensure compliance with standards, including preparation of Property Improvement Plans (PIPs).
Review and update design and construction standards periodically, integrating sustainable and innovative technologies.
Provide technical guidance to Directors of Engineering (DOEs) on standards, procedures, fire, life & safety, and environmental issues.
Identify, develop, and implement sustainability initiatives in areas such as decarbonization, energy efficiency, water management, and waste reduction.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, with preference for focus on design, construction, or technical services.
Recognised professional qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
812 years experience in a lead role within consultancy or hotel technical services; hospitality project experience highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of design and construction standards, with proven ability to ensure compliance with brand and regulatory requirements.
Familiarity with sustainability and certification programs such as Green Mark, LEED, or EarthCheck.
Experience with energy and sustainability technology implementation is advantageous.
Strong leadership, project management, and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate effectively across diverse cultures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation abilities.
Passion for sustainability, ESG, and continuous process improvement.
Independent, proactive, and able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
