About the role:
The Data & Analytics Product Manager is responsible for developing the capabilities of Ampol’s Trading & Shipping (T&S) data analytics products over time to deliver value. This role sits within the Data and Analytics team, working closely and collaborating with stakeholders that leverage these data products across Trading and Shipping Commercial Analytics and the Ampol T&S Trading team.
This role is responsible for leading the definition of relevant Analytical objectives and strategy for the business unit; framing analytical platform requirements to meet those needs; working closely with delivery and operational technology teams to deliver product improvements over time; and supporting commercial analysts and other stakeholders to enable the use of these models and insights to deliver value.
This is a key role, responsible for defining and driving the uplift of data and analytics capabilities in the business, via proprietary Ampol data products and platforms.This role is a 14 Month fixed-term contract.
You’ll take us further by:
Driving the development of the strategy for defined analytics platforms through consultation with business and other technology stakeholders.
Owning and prioritising functional requirements and features for the T&S analytics platform.
Collaborating with CA team, engineering leads, and broader delivery teams to manage delivery of platform enhancements over time from a customer perspective.
Contributing to the development of key data tools, data products, and dashboards.
Managing relevant cross-functional initiatives.
Managing analysts or engineers' roles in supporting platform needs, as required over time.
Testing and/or troubleshooting product issues, working with relevant support teams.
Supporting definition of relevant operating structures and support processes.
Driving the use of platforms to deliver value.
Facilitating the identification and development of new analytics use cases from concept through to production.
Ensuring application of appropriate data governance concepts in relevant T&S data.
We’d love it if you have:
Demonstrated experience in commercial and/or analytical function, within the commodities trading or shipping domain.
Problem-solving capability in technical and complex analytics domains, and the ability to translate results into commercial value.
Experience in Product Management process including requirement and user story documentation, feature prioritisation, backlog management, and product planning.
Experience working on big data, data science, or business optimisation problems, including data visualisation and modelling.
Experience leading analysis to support analytic questions using a variety of tools.
Experience working in agile and matrixed team structures.
Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau.
Nice to have:
Experience in delivery of Machine Learning algorithms and/or delivery frameworks.
Understanding of UI and UX design.
Demonstrated experience in either consulting or other customer sales domains.
