Roles & Responsibilities Job Summary: We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Sommelier to elevate our wine and beverage experience. You’ll curate selections, manage wine programs, host tastings, and provide exceptional service in a dynamic and intimate dining environment. Key Responsibilities: Welcome guests warmly and understand their preferences to provide wine recommendations. Curate and update the wine list featuring key regions (France, Italy, Japan, etc.). Develop a profitable wine strategy aligned with restaurant concept and clientele. Foster strong relationships with wine suppliers and source exclusive selections. Collaborate with the culinary team on wine pairings for seasonal menus. Provide professional wine presentation, explaining aromas, styles, and vintages. Host wine dinners, tastings, and private events to drive engagement. Train service staff on wine knowledge to enhance overall guest experience. Set wine sales targets and review performance with the manager. Oversee proper wine storage and manage inventory to reduce waste. Handle guest feedback, inquiries, and complaints graciously. Support the service team in guest interactions and F&B operations when needed. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Requirements: Minimum 3–5 years of sommelier or wine service experience. Formal wine certification (WSET, CMS, or equivalent) preferred. Strong knowledge of global wines, including sake and Japanese wine. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Passion for hospitality and guest interaction. Team player with a flexible, hands-on attitude. Ability to communicate in Mandarin or Japanese is an advantage to liaise with Mandarin or Japanese speaking guests.
