UOB Private Bank
is dedicated to managing the wealth of high-net-worth individuals with investment assets of $5 million and above. We provide tailored products and solutions that draw on the Group’s comprehensive suite of personal, business, and investment services.
The Private Bank Business Risk and Controls Management (PB BRCM)
function sits within the PB Business as part of the 1st line of defence, under the PB COO organization. PB BRCM actively drives and maintains oversight of the front-to-back activities and risk profile of the PB business, ensuring proper management across non-financial risk taxonomies, including Investment Suitability, AML/KYC, Anti-fraud, Conduct, Cross border activities, Data Privacy, and BCM.
Job Responsibilities
As a member of the Private Bank BRCM team, this role will assist the Head of Private Bank BRCM in building out the Business Risk Analytics & Intelligence capabilities within the 1st line of defence. Responsibilities include:
Drive and implement the Business risk analytics capabilities and strategic projects, including Risk capabilities roadmap to deliver valuable and predictive risk insights.
Drive innovation and automation initiatives by deploying analytics/AI in reviews, data preparation, and assurance over key risks.
Conduct thematic reviews and investigations to identify potential conduct risks.
Lead and develop specialized business risk expertise in certain risk taxonomies (e.g., Investment Suitability, Anti-Fraud or AML/KYC).
Review and uplift assurance and surveillance testing procedures.
Provide sound and pragmatic risk advisory to business and support functions.
Manage and develop risk metrics and visualization solutions for PB management and stakeholders.
Job Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial institution, preferably with a background in business risk, compliance, audit, or consulting:
Experience in working with data for risk management and project management, particularly in data analytics/automation/visualization.
Strong capabilities in driving thematic reviews and assessments of risk topics.
Good abilities in using tools for data analytics and visualization (e.g., Excel, Qilk, PowerBI).
Deep knowledge in programming languages (VBA, Python, SQL) or database management.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with all levels within the organization.
Understanding of Private Bank business and risk taxonomies (AML, Anti-Fraud, or Investment Suitability) is an advantage.
Undergraduate degree in a quantitative program such as Statistics, Business Analytics, Computer Science or Post-graduate degree in analytics or risk management is preferred.
Self-motivated, independent, and meticulous with an analytical mindset.
