Database Operations Excellence Specialist

Job Summary:

The Database Operations Excellence Specialist will collaborate with a team of engineers to ensure seamless database operations, maintaining high availability and compliance with service level agreements and security policies.

They will be accountable for the team's performance in achieving project and operational key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) at both the team and individual levels. Engage with the team and management, providing expert advice and recommendations on matters related to the database system.

Design, develop, and maintain database systems for cloud-based databases. This includes working with clients to integrate cloud databases into the system and applying policies to monitor these databases. Actively monitoring security alerts and collaborating with clients to ensure effective policy implementation and maintained security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute Database Administration Service Levels
  • Implement infrastructure and support database security monitoring
  • Perform database security monitoring and auditing
  • Monitor security alerts and work with clients to ensure policy implementation
  • Manage database activity monitoring reports
  • Communicate regularly with technical, applications, and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security
  • Identify and resolve database system vulnerabilities
  • Advise on Database Monitoring Capabilities
  • Optimize Database Monitoring

Requirements:

  • Knowledgeable about how database operations fit into security and understand database security concepts
  • Strong technical knowledge of databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL, Oracle, SAP HANA, MongoDB)
  • Strong knowledge of Windows/UNIX/Linux server platforms
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English is a mandatory criterion
  • Strong communication skills with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong vendor, service level, and project management skills
